The Government is set to conduct transparent internationaltenders based on the "TV model" to select consultancies that willhandle the recruitment of independent professional managers foraround 50 state-held companies selected together with the IMF, saysMihai Tănăsescu, representative of Romania to the internationalfinancial institution.
"Consultants will collect strong CVs for CEO or CFO positions,will analyse them based on the competences required for everycompany and will come up with shortlists of candidates that thegovernment will be able to choose from," is the mechanism outlinedby Tănăsescu.
Only this project is not likely to be simple, cheap or veryrealistic, considering the political endorsement it needs.
According to estimates of the Association of Executive SearchConsultants (AESC), which includes the world's biggest executivesearch companies, the executive search company that would win theauction organised by the Government could secure a 1.5 million-eurocontract.
