Hervis posts 8m-euro turnover after doubling store network

24.03.2009, 15:08 11

Hervis, an Austrian sportswear and sports equipment retailer, ended last year with 8 million-euro turnover and 130 employees, following the expansion of its network by 3 stores and an increase in consumption, according to company representatives. Originally, the company expected to derive 13 million euros in turnover in 2008. For this year, although it expected a double-digit rise, the company refrains from giving any figures "due to the economic instability both on the national and on the international market." However, the company's plan to have 50 stores by 2014 stands. Currently, Hervis has six stores in Romania, with the seventh one to be inaugurated at the beginning of April in Militari Shopping Center in Bucharest. "There will be over 30,000 items available, both for indoor and outdoor activities. The overall investment amounts to 2.5 million euros, and includes both merchandise and administrative expenses," said Catalin Pozdarie, general manager of Hervis Sport Romania.
