Held Fashion plans to boost production capacity

09.02.2007, 19:44 10

The Held Fashion company based in Cluj-Napoca, which manufactures clothing under the outsourcing system, plans to boost its production capacity for the Frank Walder range, as a result of the increasingly higher demand coming from Eastern European companies. The company estimates turnover will exceed 3.4 million euros this year, which is a 5% rise in the financial indications compared with that of 2006.
"We estimate that financial indicators will see a slight rise this year, due to a change of brand and as a result of the increasing range of products available. Frank Walder, the new brand we launched on the market last year was very well received, and because of foreign interest we intend to boost our production capacity for customers from Eastern Europe," Honoria Chis, the company's administrative manager told ZF Transilvania. The exports account for some 99% of the company's total turnover.
Last year, the company's investments have been dedicated to the arrangement of its own outlet - Factory Store, and to additional investment in equipping the CAD department (specialising in gradation and moulding). The company intends to invest in the expansion of its workshop areas this year in a bid to boost production capacities and to increase the number of employees, according to Held Fashion management.
"Romania's accession to the European Union brought us not only a series of opportunities, but also increasingly fiercer competition. The apparel field is extremely flexible and has to constantly adjust to the changes and demands of the market," believes Honoria Chis.
The company specialises in manufacturing jackets, blouses, skirts and T-shirts dedicated to women aged over 50, but it also manufactures clothing for other producers (trousers, vests and knitted clothing). Part of the orders received from abroad are delivered to various clothing companies located in Cluj-Napoca.
