Gerbrant de Boer, general manager of Friesland Romania - the largest player in the dairy industry, will leave the company at the end of this month, after almost eight years in charge. De Boer has run Friesland Romania branch since the Dutch group's entry onto the local market in 2000. During his time in charge De Boer has overseen four transactions that exceeded 17 million euros in value. These transactions resulted in Friesland becoming the leader of the dairy market, with an annual turnover worth 130 million euros. Friesland Romania's general manager will become CEO of the dairy producer Sole-Mizo in Hungary, a company with an annual turnover worth 300 million dollars. The company also owns four plants, and boasts 1,400 employees. "After eight years at the company's helm, I feel I have achieved all my goals in Romania. Moreover, Hungary is like a second home to me, especially as my family lives there," says De Boer, who, prior to coming to Romania, had held executive positions at the Friesland branch in Hungary.
