Fresh products boost Univers'all's revenues

03.05.2004, 00:00 14

Univers'all supermarket chain achieved 40% turnover growth in the first three months of 2004 compared with the same time in 2003, while having a new general manager at the helm since early this year: Patrick Iffly, former chief of operations with Carrefour Romania. "The turnover growth has been prompted by our commercial policy and emphasis on fresh products, such as bakery and pastry products, fruit, vegetables and fresh meat," Patrick Iffly says. Under the circumstances, Univers'all's turnover should reach 1,200bn ROL this year, up 70% from the 700bn posted last year. "The growth does not include the new supermarkets we are planning to open in Bucharest, with at least two slated for the last quarter this year," Iffly added. The Univers'all chain held by the GFS Group currently numbers five supermarkets. The first three supermarkets were opened in Sibiu, Suceava and Targu Mures in 2002. ZF
