23.04.2007, 18:11 14

Bicycle manufacturer Eurosport DHS in Deva, held by Chinese and German shareholders, is estimating a turnover of 11.4 million-euro this year, an 80% increase in financial indicators on 2006, when the company posted sales of over 6.3 million-euros. The DHS group as a whole recorded a 10 million-euro turnover. "The positive trend in the turnover this year will greatly depend on us increasing our exports to European Union countries, as well as increasing the number of our customers in Romania, especially the number of young consumers buying sports equipment. Currently we hold a 70% share in the domestic bicycle market, and predict to increase our share in the near future," Lucian Contras, executive manager of Eurosport DHS told ZF. Currently, exports account for 50% in the company's total turnover, with Eurosport DHS officials estimating an increase of 10% in exports by the end of the year. The company's foreign business partners are from Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Greece and the Republic of Moldova. In 2006, the company invested over 1.5 million euros in renovating its buildings and in modernising existing equipment. Investment and development plans for this year target the strengthening of the company's transport fleet.
