Eforie H1 turnover up 50%

19.08.2003, 00:00 12

Eforie company, which controls 11 hotels in the seaside resort Eforie Nord, logged 15.7bn ROL (some $500.000) turnover in the first half, up 49% from the year-ago period, when it posted 10.5bn ROL. However, the company ended the first half with 440.7m ROL losses, as compared with 5bn ROL net profit attained in the first six months in 2002. "The company's loss in the first half is normal for the seasonal tourism. In the first six months, the hotel revamping always triggers big expenses, while revenues are low. The profit posted in the first half last year was not coming from the main activity, but from the sale of assets," Mihai Pescu, economic manager at Eforie SA, told Ziarul Financiar. ZF
