02.02.2007, 17:55 7

The paint and varnish producer Dufa Romania derived turnover worth 21.6 million euros last year, seeing some 26% growth against 2005, triggered by the increase of the construction market.
"We estimate we will maintain the same growth pace we registered last year, with the main catalyst behind it being the growth of the construction market and an increased presence of our products in the network of specialised stores," says Gabriel Enache, the marketing manager of Dufa Deutek. Therefore it can be expected that the paint and varnish producer will derive turnover worth 27 million euros.
The best selling products of last year were decorative plasters, which saw a 50% rise in sales, and paints which saw a 25% rise.
"This year we will try to broaden our product range dedicated to professional consumers by adding some decorative plaster products with improved function and performance. We will also focus on the sale of specialist wall decorations such as Venetian stucco," states Enache.
The sales of special decorations have increased over the recent years, as the paint and varnish market has grown along with the demand for these products, therefore increasingly more manufacturers have decided to invest in this segment.
Dufa Deutek invested over 3 million euros last year, aiming to expand its production and storage facilities as well as to promote its product range.
"We will invest approximately 4 million euros in 2007, to complete the expansion of our product range, increase storage capacity and to promote our products. As well, we intend to reorganise our commercial department to be able to meet customer demands," says Enache.
Compared with last year, the decorative paint market is set to rise by some 20% and will amount to some 140 million euros - net sales registered by producers and importers.
