09.11.2006, 19:17 14

Reghin-based plywood manufacturer Prolemn, posted turnover worth over 18 million euros (63.8 million RON) in the first half of 2006, a 21% increase against the same time last year, when the company witnessed over 14 million euros (50.4 million RON) in turnover. "The main reason behind growth has been due to the fact that a new door skin press has been installed, pushing production capacity up by 120%. The company has also increased the number of employees from 250 people in 1998, to 1,300 people in 2006. We also have orders to produce HDF door skins for Belgium, Turkey, Ukraine and France, as we are the only producers in Continental Europe on this market niche," Farkas Matilda, chief accountant of Prolemn, told ZF. Company officials say that Prolemn will have invested over 13 million euros by the end of year, most of which spent on making the second door skin press functional. The company also announced it would continue investments in modernising its plywood and solid wood product plants.
