Demand in the construction sector boosts industrial output

31.05.2006, 00:00 8

The growth of the construction market will lead to a growth of industrial production, especially in the construction materials industry, the extractive industry and the metallic construction industry, shows a study of the National Prognosis Commission (CNP). The CNP study says that entrepreneurs prefer local construction materials to build industrial constructions, while imported materials are preferred for building homes. "The only prerequisite needed for the industry to benefit from the constructions sector is for imports of materials for the building of homes to go down," Ion Ghizdeanu, chairman of the National Prognosis Commission told ZF. The construction market saw an overall growth of 20.7% in the first quarter against the first three months of 2005, a record pace of growth for the last few years. It was the infrastructure works that primarily influenced this high point seen in the constructions field in the first quarter, says the president of the CNP. ZF
