Targu-Mures-based Daw Benta Romania company, part of Daw & Caparol group, a paint and varnish producer, in the first half of this year registered turnover worth above 9.1m euros, up 57% against the same period last year. "The increase was due to already finalised investments that boosted production capacities for expanded polystyrene and washable dye and also because we opened units to manufacture adhesives and structured plaster. In the following period, we expect sales of thermo-insulating systems from the Capatec range to register significant growth amid the need for building thermal rehabilitation and to cut down maintenance costs," Remus Aurel Benta, general manager with Daw Benta Romania company, told ZF. For 2007, the company has budgeted investments worth above 2.5m euros for the expansion of the headquarters in Targu Mures and the building of a logistic centre in Bucharest, which will allow for the company's products to be sold in southern Romania and Bulgaria. According to the company's representatives, the Romanian division of Daw & Caparol will generate turnover worth around 22m euros this year, up 40% year-on-year.
