19.08.2008, 19:19 6

The higher prices for raw materials and especially rising purchasing power are driving a City Grill customer's tab up by approximately 22% compared with last year. "We have successfully controlled the prices in the menu so as (the rise) will be below last year's inflation and this year's forecast of 8% and 10% respectively. However, the improvement of living standards in Romania has lead to a change in our customers' behaviour year after year. This is why the average transaction is 22% higher than last year," Dragos Petrescu, who controls City Grill and Buongiorno chains, the City Caf? coffee shops and the Caru' cu Bere restaurant through Trotter Prim. According to Petrescu, prices in the menu of the group rose by 5% to 7%, because almost all of the raw materials used became more expensive- from meat and chicken to milk and beverages.
