Wine producer Cramele Recas, based in Banat (Western Romania), expects sales worth 2 million euros next year from wine imports, with the company officials relying on a 10 million-euro turnover in 2008. "We estimate a turnover increase by at least 2 million euros in 2008, an increase which will be generated by our new role, as a representative and importer of foreign producers in Romania," said Rares Marinescu, general manager of Cramele Recas Group. Cramele Recas Group intends to build a complex portfolio, which will include household names from all over the world, to cover major wine-growing regions. "We estimate to see a turnover increase by another 30% next year, against 2007, on the segment of wines produced by us," said Rares Marinescu. Cramele Recas posted sales worth 4.1 million euros (14 million RON) in the first 10 months of this year, seeing a 37% increase against the same time last year. "We sold 2.1 million bottles in the January - October period, a 31% increase on last year," added Rares Marinescu. For this year, company officials estimate a 6.5 million-euro turnover.
