The office furniture market, put at around 80-100 million euros, fell by 40% in the third quarter of this year, according toestimates of Corporate Office Solutions importer. "In the thirdquarter of the year we saw a first significant decline because wedid not have projects put off from the first few months of theyear, while new transactions were few," said Horatiu Didea, commercial manager of Corporate Office Solutions (COS). However, the overall market, which is very fragmented, fell by 30% in thefirst nine months of the year. Hundreds of companies operating onthis niche have turnovers between 10,000 and 100,000 euros. "As weanticipated halfway through this year, many large companies thathad already planned to relocate this year cancelled their plans, but either decided to keep their existing furniture or turned tolower segments, with super low-cost furniture gaining ground,"added Didea. He specified that the last quarter of the year wouldsee no major changes compared with previous quarters, because veryfew office buildings will be delivered onto the market.
