02.07.2008, 18:15 12

Colgate-Palmolive could collect over 7 million euros from the sale of its Brasov-based plant, after it shuts the unit down and transfers local production to Poland. "The company intends to sell the building and the approximately 3,500 square metres of land. The plant is still operational, with production to be phased out gradually over the course of this year," said Colgate-Palmolive representatives. According to real estate agencies in Brasov, the plant's land, situated in the city centre, near the Brasov law court, could be worth 3.5-5 million euros. The building accommodates the only Colgate-Palmolive plant in Romania as well as company offices, spread over several floors. Given the area's office space development potential, a transaction could bring the American company over 7 million euros, the price of the building included, according to estimates made by real estate consultants.
