Travel agency Aerotravel Lufthansa City Centre, one of the leading such agencies in Romania estimates turnover of 20 million euros for 2005. "We will see a 25% growth on 2004. Early this year we set out to attain 20% turnover growth," says marketing manager Claudia Stan. Six months into the year the company posted 9 million euros in turnover. The growth of the Aerostar business is both due to the better promotion of travel packages and to the increase in the business travel segment.
"We introduced charter flights to Turkey and Greece this year, which are operated from three airports in Romania - Timisoara, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca," Stan explained. "The year 2005 was rather difficult and full of negative surprises that made a direct impact on the tourism market. The bomb attacks in Egypt and Turkey, the floods that affected half of Europe, and avian flu were just some of the events that set new trends," the Aerotravel official said. ZF
