18.02.2008, 18:10 9

Mihai Anghel, owner of Cerealcom Dolj, one of the top three agricultural producers in Romania, will invest up to 2.5 million euros this year in retooling and renewing its vehicle fleet. A portion of the sum is allocated to the silos segment, which is managed by Anghel, while the rest will be spent on agricultural production. "We are building a 10,000-tonne silo in Calafat (Danube port), in order to load the grain to be exported onto the barges more easily. As for production segment, the company continues to modernise its vehicle fleet, by acquiring six new 550-horsepower tractors, with an investment that totals over 1.2 million euros" Anghel told ZF in an interview. In order to collect the necessary sums to develop the company, Anghel will use both credits, and the company's own resources. For this year, Cerealcom Dolj forecasts turnover worth 110 million euros, up by almost 10% against 2007, when it posted business worth 100 million euros. "We don't know what the price of cereals will be this summer. It will probably go down, but the volumes will be large. Therefore, the value of the products will remain constant, thus preventing a major turnover increase" added Anghel.
