Budget revenues exceed target by almost 6%

06.02.2007, 19:19 6

The general budget collected revenues worth 2.81 billion euros (9.541 billion RON) in January; this is up 17.7% in euros against January 2006, and up 5.7% against the revenue schedule proposed by the Budget Law. Revenues in excess of those set in the schedule were mainly collected from VAT, health care contributions and revenues originating from the local budgets. The public budget is thus starting the new fiscal year with a slowdown in growth of returns, as the almost 18% increase is marginally slower than the 23% growth witnessed last year, according to data published by the Ministry of Finance. The revenue growth stood at 10.9% for the state budget and at 27.9% for the pension budget. In terms of budgets, the local budgets' own revenues saw the biggest growth, by over 77%, to 152 million euros. This was the reason why the target for collecting revenues of the local budgets was exceeded by almost 30% in January.
