Bleyzer targets floatation on Western stock markets for its companies

American investment fund SigmaBleyzer, which entered the Romanian market last year through the acquisition of dairy producer Covalact, aims to boost the value of its purchased companies within 2-3 years. "Our intention is to increase a company's value 6-7 times after acquisition and, within 2-3 years, to float on the Stock Exchange. We are looking for entrepreneurs who wish to preserve a 20-30% stake. We want to keep the management structures, as well as the companies' names, where necessary," said Michael Bleyzer, chairman and CEO of SigmaBleyzer, told ZF in an interview. The investment fund took over 70% of the dairy producer Covalact last summer in a deal estimated at 7 million euros, this being the minimum amount the Americans will invest in a company. SigmaBleyzer is interested in groups in need of sums ranging from 20-30 million dollars to over 400 million dollars, but only for a 51 to 70% stake. Among the fields targeted in Romania are the food & beverages market, the retail market, as well as high-tech and healthcare. The head of SigmaBleyzer believes Romania is one of the countries with the highest long-term potential.
