Asesoft owner among top 20 wind farm developers in Romania

Businessman Sebastian Ghiţă, who controls Asesoft groupoperating in IT&C industry, is the co-owner, alongside threeother investors, of Corni Eolian, which is developing a 700 MWproject in Galaţi county. Ghiţă's investment in Galaţi is among thetop 20 biggest wind projects in Romania, for which a contract tojoin the electrical grid has already been signed, according to datafrom national power grid company Transelectrica, with the 20including big energy groups such as CEZ (The Czech Republic), Enel(Italy), RWE (Germany), Energias de Portugal, and Verbund(Austria). The signing of the contract to join the grid is a majorstep towards making an investment in a wind power project.


"We have several wind farms, in addition to the 70 MW one inGalaţi. We are also working on a 30 MW farm, two 70-MW farms, andon another two 100 MW ones in Constanţa, Tulcea, and Galaţi. Westarted to work in the sector five or six years ago and were thefirst to install a wind turbine in Romania, the one in Topolog,which is still working. We will finance our projects through loansbecause nobody sells grandma's jewellery to get the necessarymoney," says Ghiţă. In order to build a 70 MW wind farm one needsaround 100 million euros if the equipment used is new.
