The takeover of Ilfov county egg producer Toneli by the Laoun group, shareholder of Prahova county-based poultry producer Agrisol International, was recently approved by the Competition Council. "We acquired Toneli together with a partner, because it was a good investment and this is a complementary business for us. We are also considering further acquisitions," Laoun officials said, without specifying what industrial segments they target. The Competition Council has approved the joint takeover of controlling stakes in Toneli Holding (Avicola Gaesti, controlled by Toneli is included in the deal), Combavi and Euro Casa Prod, by the Laoun group and by RC Global Brands Limited. All the companies in the deal operate in egg production and retail, as well as fodder production.
