A&D Pharma: sees 36% turnover increase to 96.1m euros

A&D Pharma, which includes the drug distributor Mediplus and the Sensiblu drugstore chain, posted a 96.1 million-euro net consolidated turnover for the first quarter of this year, 36% more than the same time last year. The company's shares, which have been traded as GDRs on the London Stock Exchange since last year, had climbed to 13 euros per one GDR (GDR - Global Depositary Receipts equal six shares), from 12.5 euros in the previous trading session, less than two hours from the time when the company's financial results for the first quarter of this year were announced. A&D Pharma shareholders raised over 130 million euros following the initial public offering, with A&D Pharma currently being the only Romanian company listed on the London Stock Exchange. Mediplus, the distribution division of the group, posted a non-consolidated turnover worth 82.5 million euros in the first three months of the year, a 34% increase against the same period in 2006.
