Angela Creţu, 36, who has been working for US cosmetics companyAvon since 1999, has been promoted to general manager of AvonRussia, one of the biggest markets in the world, with a GDP tentimes the size of Romania's and seven times its population, that is145 million people.
Angela Creţu joined Avon Romania in 1999; six years later shewas promoted to general manager, and then took on supervision ofthe Avon business in ten countries in her position asVice-President Global Business Model Innovation (a position shetook in June 2009).
Her appointment complements the series of Romanian executiveswho got the reins of businesses several times higher than inRomania over the last few years.
The Avon group is the biggest direct seller of cosmeticsproducts worldwide, with a 10.7 billion dollar business and 600million dollar profit. Avon's business in Romania stands at 110million euros.
