100,000 consultants prepare to launch private pensions

11.04.2007, 19:45 9

Insurance companies involved in the private pensions system will hire 70,000 to 100,000 consultants in order to sell pension products. "We estimate 70% of our sales will be done through our sales channel and through the sales network of the Omniasig group," states Monica Pavelescu, marketing manager of the private pensions division of Omniasig Asigurari de Viata (Omniasig Life Insurance). The company will have about 10,000 sales agents of its own, with the other distribution channels being banks and insurance brokers. "We have chosen these distribution channels because we believe it is very important to have people experienced in selling financial products. We also want to support people who want to open their own business and be marketing agents working as legal entities," explains Pavelescu. Omniasig Pensii (Omniasig Pensions) started recruiting its sales agents in February, with the company estimating that by June the team will be complete. The company estimates each agent will finalise 8 to 12 contracts every month. Pavelescu believes the main advantage that the new pension company will have in attracting clients will be the experience and positive image already established by the Omniasig group. "Secondly, it is an opportunity to earn a lot of money as additional income revenue for people who already are employed. There are a lot of people who want to work and be paid accordingly for their work," adds Pavelescu.
