Romanians contribute $40m to LinkedIn value

Shares of LinkedIn, the business social network, rose by 109% from the initial price on the second day since floatation, with its market value now put at $8.8 billion, according to Bloomberg. Thus, each CV posted on the website is worth around $81.
Globally, the network has more than 100 million users, whose
number has tripled in the past couple of years. In Romania,
LinkedIn has 416,336 members, who thus contributed almost $40
million to LinkedIn value growth.
In Romania, LinkedIn is more often used by women than men and
the best represented age category is that of users aged between 25
and 34, according to website data.
Each of the three biggest companies operating in Romania has
over 1,000 employees with LinkedIn accounts, according to the
website data.
BCR, Romania's biggest bank, has 1,353 employees
using LinkedIn business network, followed by BRD with 1,062 and
Petrom with 1,102. Almost 1,200 employees of Orange, leader of the
domestic telecom market, have a LinkedIn account.
