French company Gameloft, one of the leading worldwide publishers and developers of games for consoles and mobile phones, has reached almost 500 employees in Romania and has about 150 openings at its offices in Bucharest and Cluj.
"The jobs available are development and testing positions. The
profiles sought both for the studio in Bucharest and for the studio
in Cluj are the same: programmers, designers, (2D and 3D) graphic
artists and game testers," Andreea Nicolescu, communications
specialist told ZF. "The team in Bucharest has about 400 employees,
while the team in Cluj 90." The centre in Cluj opened in 2010 will
reach 100 people in a few weeks.
Romanians are currently working on five games for Apple iPhone and a game for a mobile games console to be sold worldwide.
Gameloft has been operating in Romania since 1999. It also has studios in the US, Canada, France, China, Japan, Italy and Bulgaria.
Gameloft posted 141 million euros in global revenues, up 16%, in 2010. The company has more than 4,000 developers worldwide.
