Tinmar Ind, Electrica Muntenia Nord, Electrica Transilvania Sud and CEZ Vânzare are the companies specialising in energy trading that in 2010 registered the biggest increase in the amounts sold on the competitive market, namely only to end consumers.

According to the data in the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority's report, domestic electricity consumption rose by around 4.2% last year, with positive trends being posted on the household consumption segment, 5.2%, and on the competitive one (the market of end clients that chose to change their electricity supplier, becoming eligible i.e.), over 19%.

"The competitive market rose mainly due to one factor. There is not higher energy consumption coming from the same clients, but of a rising number of clients in the competitive sector. (...)," explains Ioan Silvaş, energy supply manager with Electrica.

The company that reported the biggest increase of the amount of power sold on the competitive market was Tinmar Ind, controlled by Augustin Oancea, a 38-year old businessman of Câmpina. According to ANRE data, the company in 2010 sold around 2.4 times more energy than in 2009.
