FP to account for 20% of BET and 30% of BET-FI indices of Bucharest Stock Exchange

Fondul Proprietatea (FP) will become one of the most important issuers in the structure of four bourse indices: BET, BET-C, BET-FI and BET-XT, whose trend it will impact significantly from now on.

These are the most sweeping changes seen in Bourse indices in recent years. Starting Monday, FP will weigh almost 20% in the BET index that gauges the trend of the ten most important companies listed on the Bourse and will account for 30% in the BET-FI index, which has so far been exclusively destined to financial investment companies (SIF).

This is the first time the BET and BET-FI indices will have a common component, yielding a tighter correlation between them. The introduction of FP in bourse indices is also likely to be a factor of stability for them, considering the daily fluctuations of the fund's stock have in the past month been much lower than those of indices. It remains to be seen to what extent FP shares will contribute to indices' performances this year.
