Henkel, a company with over 130m-euro turnover annually, with operations in the consumer goods industry and the field of building materials, will start building its third plant this year. "Our building this plant clearly shows what kind of expectations we have from the market," says Liviu Sfrija, general manager of Henkel Romania. For the new plant, the investment budget stands at 10m euros, with part of the sum, namely 2.85m euros, due to be covered through European funding.

The total value of investments carried out for production facilities on the Romanian market so far stands at 30m euros. The new facility is likely to start production in late 2012 and around 50-60 people will be hired, reads BUSINESS Magazin. Henkel bought the plot of land for the new production facility early last year in Roznov, Neamţ county.

According to the initial plans, production was scheduled to start this year, but positive signals lacked. Henkel Romania last year reached 133m-euro turnover, after a 16% decline in 2009 against 2008. The company estimates it will step into the black in 2011, with turnover set to rise by around 10%.
