Dan Pascariu, 60, one of the longest-serving Romanian bankers, plans to retain his position as chairman of UniCredit Ţiriac Bank supervisory board, also depending on discussions with shareholders, as his current term ends this spring.
"I want to keep this position as I believe I can further contribute with my experience. This will however depend on agreement with shareholders, too," stated Pascariu.
He was appointed in this position in April 17, 2008, at the same time as Răsvan Radu was reconfirmed as the bank's CEO.
For over 20 years, he worked for the former Romanian Bank for Foreign Trade, where he started his career and climbed to the position of chairman in the 1991-1994 period. He participated in key deals for the Romanian state.
Today, he says he would not be interested in discussing his leaving for another bank. "In almost 40 years of career, I've only had three employers, out of which one for less than two years. I am a loyal employee, I am not easy to steal".
