Former Piritex head, appointed manager for SE Europe of building products group

Adrian Porfir, 43, who has filled the position of general manager with Piritex distributor of building materials and finishings for the past two years, has recently taken over the position of manager for South-Eastern Europe with Joris Ide Group, a Belgian firm of steel-made building products with 16 plants in 7 countries.

"From the new position, I will supervise the production facilities of Romania (Buziaş), Hungary and Croatia, where the group operates under the name of Megaprofil and employs several hundred people," said Porfir, who fills a newly created position, reporting directly to the Belgian group's CEO.


Megaprofil in 2009 generated 29.4m-euro turnover, down over 40% from 2008, when it reached 51.9m-euro turnover. At the same time, in 2009 the company employing 128 people posted 3.4m-euro losses, after having generated 4.9m-euro income in the previous year, according to Trade Registry data.
Porfir will supervise the group's operations in the three countries from Romania.
