Dumitru Tudor, one of the biggest investors on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, has invested 12 million RON to take over the majority interest in Vidraru Curtea de Argeş (VIRU), which operates in the real estate sector, this year, and to double the stake in electrical equipment manufacturer Electroargeş (ELGS).
He expects the economy to rebound next year, and seeks to get as good a position as possible to ride the new growth wave.
"This trend that seems to be forming on the Stock Exchange may be that signal that comes out before the economy recovers. Another positive signal is the growth in the industry orders, as seen in the increase in the orders of Electroargeş," says Dumitru Tudor, who has tens of millions of RON invested on the Stock Exchange.
Tudor paid more than 10.4 million RON this year to buy the controlling interests in Vidraru Curtea de Argeş from SIF Oltenia and other investors. He plans to revitalise the business of the company and make it more profitable.
As for Electroargeş, the businessman bought a stake in it because he knew the company very well and is now its second largest shareholder.
