How Blue Air's insolvency, a decision challenged by the company, happened
The decision of the Bucharest Court of Law to open insolvency
proceedings for Blue Air airline, challenged by the air operator as
early as Friday, has already cost the company customers, say Blue
Air officials, who claim this is an attack on the company's
image.
The Bucharest Court of Law published on Friday afternoon on its
website the decision to open insolvency proceedings against
low-cost airline Blue Air, controlled by Nelu Iordache, following
the petition filed as early as in March by air operator Carpatair
and by Service Excellence Solutions, over debts of 30,000 euros and
48,000 euros respectively.
Blue Air officials promptly challenged the decision and said debts
to Carpatair and to Service Excellence Solutions had been paid,
which does not explain the decision of the Court of Law. Carpatair
representatives confirmed the payment of the debt as early as in
March.
Florentina Ivan, communication manager of Blue Air, says no flight
has been cancelled, with the company continuing to operate
according to its regular schedule.
