Couriers gain from e-commerce, too
Adrian Mihai, one of the three owners of Fan Courier, maintains
online stores such as eMag type will generate 10% of turnover this
year, from only 1-2% four years ago.
In other words, parcels delivered for e-commerce companies will
bring the courier 4m-euro revenues, compared with 440,000 euros in
2006.
"We've sealed contracts both with large stores, but also with a lot
of small stores in the e-commerce field, for which we deliver only
several parcels per week," stated Adrian Mihai, a business
development manager and shareholder of Fan Courier.
The other two shareholders in the company are Felix Pătrăşcanu and
Neculai Mihai.
The other couriers operating on the Romanian market are also seeing
rising revenues owing to clients in the electronic fields, as well
as those in teleshopping.
The online retail market has advanced by 30% on average this year,
according to players' estimates, and the biggest IT&C retailer
domestically, eMag, also selling products online, generated
41m-euro turnover in the first six months of the year, up 64%
against 2009, according to the company's representatives.
