Former football player Gică Popescu, 43, is set to build up a bazaar-type shopping centre close to Bucharest's Rahova Market, on the plot of land of the former paint plant of Fabryo Corporation producer, in the wake of a 10m-euro investment. "I believe in the future and possibilities of the real estate market, unlike others. I believe in the potential of this country. We must have courage to be able to do something. In September or October I will open a shopping centre, Doldora Bazaar, in Rahova," said Gică Popescu, one of the people who have invested the money earned from football in real estate businesses in the past decade. He sold part of the properties he owns, particularly those in Spain, before the crisis. Doldora Bazaar of Rahova will be developed over a 12,000 square metre total area, using the model of IDM, Sir or Dragonul Roşu shopping centres. The project is carried out by Gică Popescu, together with Marius Roateş and George Saguna, who own an equal stake, of 37.5%, in Doldora Capital company set to develop the shopping centre, while the former football player owns 25% in the company.
