Just 5% of Romanians living in cities want to take out a loan

One out of three Romanians living in cities has a loan to pay
back and just 5% of city residents want to take out a banking loan
this year, reveals a survey published in the 2010 Financial Report
that Mediafax press agency is set to launch on Tuesday, July 6, at
the Mediafax Talks about Banking conference. The seventh edition of
the annual market report published by Mediafax includes the results
of research referring to Romanians' indebtedness level and their
intentions to contract loans. The survey was carried out for
Mediafax by 360insights research firm in April-May 2010 period
among 800 city residents, women and men, aged between 16 and 64.
According to the survey, 34% of city residents have a loan taken
out in some form. As regards plans to take out a loan, 89% of
Romanians have no such plans this year and just 6% of them want to
take a loan.
Most of those planning to take out a loan say they
will opt for a banking loan, with a 5-6 year maturity and a monthly
instalment of around 600 RON.
