Where is money allocated by the state to energy companies going?

The state has drawn up tens of surveys about the way the energy sector should be organised, but specialists say that there have been few notable achievements in the past twenty years, characterising this period simply: "In energy, people are talking a lot and doing little. There's never been a serious and coherent thing." Although this year companies subordinated to the Economy Ministry say they have funds worth above 2bn euros available, 65% more than last year, the results are nowhere to be seen. On the private segment of energy, though, investors are rushing to put up wind mills, turning Dobrogea into the hottest area of the moment in energy terms or are about to complete investments in power stations running on gas, bigger than a Cernavoda reactor. "(...) The entire political class needs to assume the failure of transition to the market economy and we'll have to try and do what needs to be done for Romania, so as to not repeat past mistakes. Hence, we'll need to see the results of granted subsidies," stated Adriean Videanu, the current Economy Minister.
