10 million-euro income for five OMV execs in 2009

The executives running the OMV petroleum group, the shareholder of the biggest company in Romania collected more than 10 million euros as salaries, bonuses and benefits, the company's report reveals.
Half of this amount (5 million euros) came from variable bonuses tied to the financial results of OMV in 2008, when the group posted 2.34 billion-euro profit, an increase of 7% on the previous year.
The fixed salary component of the five people running the OMV board amounted to 3.2 million euros, while the pension fund contributions reached 1.7 million euros.
Highest-paid OMV executive is Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer, the company's CEO, whose income reached 2.6 million euros (220,000 euros/month) last year, almost half of which in form of variable bonuses. Ruttenstorfer's yearly salary alone stood at 780,000 euros (65,000 euros/month), while the variable bonuses amounted to 1.2 million euros.
