Dobrogea Grup of Constanta, the producer of Eugenia brand, ended last year with turnover worth around 60m euros, slightly down in euros from 2008, according to ZF calculations, when the producer reported 61.4m-euro sales. "Last year, we renegotiated upstream contracts, raw materials, packages, services, as well as downstream ones, sales contracts. We then remodelled the organisational structure and reviewed structure along product categories," stated Fotini Teodorescu, chairman of the company, adding that while flour and bakery specialties consumption posted a slight decline last year, the company posted rising sales of pastry, cookies and even bread. The main departments that underwent reorganisation were marketing and sales. Teodorescu says he did not resort to layoffs, unemployment or technical unemployment in 2009. Moreover, the group of Constanta was one of the few producers to have operated production capacity investments last year. The money for the investment came from structural funds.
