Florin Madar, 47, owner of Brasov-based Temad company, a distributor of building materials and auxiliary products, has budgeted a 15% turnover increase in euros for this year, to 25.4m euros, after it expanded its building materials portfolio and opened its 14th branch in Piatra-Neamt last year. "In the following years, the company will expand by finding new distribution channels, new brands and product lines and possibly through regional growth. For this year, we've budgeted 15% growth in euros. An argument behind this increase is the 2009 expansion of the product portfolio and the addition of new strong brands in the portfolio," says Madar, who started the Temad business in 1994 and has invested 40m RON (around 10m euros) to expand it, with the money coming from reinvested income and own sources. The company now has 14 subsidiaries and 4 distributors in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. "(...) In Moldova we developed a joint venture and we believe the region still boasts a high growth potential," Madar says.
