Euromedic expects 30% higher turnover next year

Euromedic private medical services operator expects turnover to rise by 30% next year from the level of above 80m RON (19m euros) projected for 2009. "The increase is based not only on the level at the beginning of the year, but also on investments operated along the way. Turnover generated in the first 11 months of this year reached 75.6m RON (18m euros), partly generated by the new centres opened in 2009," said Anca Petca, chairman of Euromedic Romania. The company this year invested over 8m euros in a diagnosis centre in Focsani and three dialysis centres in Baia Mare, Botosani and Piatra-Neamt and to acquire new equipment for some older centres. "In 2010, the company's business will focus on the consolidation of existing centres and equipment renewal in some centres. We are not ruling out, though, the possible opening of some new centres at yearend," Petca also said. The company has 500 employees. Euromedic International, which Euromedic Romania is part of, operates diagnosis and dialysis centres in Europe. Its shareholder structure includes Ares Life Sciences and Merrill Lynch GPE investment funds.
