Distrigaz scraps managers' chauffeur-driven cars

The former Distrigaz Sud, which recently became GDF SUEZ
Energy Romania, a company with over one billion euros in turnover
specialising in supplying natural gas, has taken a new cost-cutting
measure: it dropped its chauffeur-driven cars, opting for a taxi
company instead. The measure does not involve the vehicle fleet
used by the company for interventions necessary on the gas
networks. "Not a lot of people are affected, around 30, because the
company has not reduced the fleet meant for interventions. However,
this saves the company quite a lot of money in terms of car
maintenance costs, insurance costs and other expenses. The taxi
company the contract has been sealed with has a good presence at
the airport," say market sources. Representatives of GDF SUEZ
Energy Romania could not be contacted for further information by
the time this issue was ready for print.
