Businessman Augustin Plesea, former owner, together with his wife, Carmina Dumitrescu, of courier company Cargus, last week finalised the sale of the company, in an unfavourable economic context. "We regard the sale of the entire company as a success, given the current crisis. Of course, if we had put it off any further, the transaction may not have gone through, but the parties, which had been in talks for over two years, were sensible enough to judge only how Cargus has fared, disregarding international influences," said Augustin Plesea, who has stepped down as general manager of the company, and now acts as general adviser. "My role will be to shape Cargus in line with the new guidelines imposed by the German owner DHL," said Plesea. Carmina Dumitrescu, who was a Cargus shareholder alongside Plesea and the company's financial manager, will give up this job by the end of the year.
