Viorel Niculescu, general manager of Automotive Trading Team, the dealer of Land Rover and Jaguar, says that the minimum wage of skilled personnel in a car service centre stands at 500 euros, given the shortage of labour on this segment. "The job market for staff in car service shops is going down. It is hard to find employees that could fill even the simplest positions," says Viorel Niculescu, general manager of Automotive Trading Team, who has previously been general manager for Ford's importer in Ukraine, since 2005 through to the summer of 2006 and general manager of Romcar, the Ford importer in Romania since its establishment in 1992 until 2005. Its car service division will generate almost 40% of the turnover of Automotive Trading Team. "We anticipate turnover worth about 2.5 million euros from the car service business in 2008. Since the opening of the service shop until the end of October we will have totalled 1,000 hours of work there," Niculescu stated.
