Mobexpert number of employees down 1,000

Mobexpert group, the largest player in the local furniture industry, saw almost 1,000 people leave the company last year, which brought the number of staff to 3,500, in the wake two plant closures and the migration of personnel abroad. "Since last year, we have several operations that we no longer include in our consolidated financial results. We closed two furniture manufacturing plants, but we also have stores that we don't add, when it comes to our consolidated results. On the other hand, we have to deal with employees leaving for jobs abroad. We have around 50 people leaving each month," said Dan Sucu, president and owner of Mobexpert. Mobexpert data do not include the employees in the 23 small stores (less than 1,500 square metres), operated under a franchise contract, with Sucu failing to specify which plants were closed. Mob expert is one of the largest employers in the local furniture industry, which holds 8 plants, where over 2,400 people, out of the total 3,500 work.
