Mercedes sells 5.5m-euro worth of sport saloon cars

DaimlerChrysler Automotive, the importer of the Mercedes brand in Romania, sold sports saloon cars worth at least 5.5 million euros between January and July 2007, with the majority of orders received for the Mercedes CLS model. The price for a basic version of the four-door luxury coupe starts from around 60,000 euros, all taxes included, and can reach more than 105,000 euros for the V8 AMG version, with a 514 horsepower engine. In a different price category, the two-door Mercedes CL sports coupe received 26 orders in seven months. The price of the model starts at almost 112,000 euros, all taxes included, and can reach more than 220,000 euros for a fully equipped car. The same price is asked for the most powerful Mercedes model - the CL 65 AMG, with a 612 horsepower, V12 engine. Tak ing into account the minimum sale price of the two models, the value of sales can be calculated at around 5.5 million euros.
