Nike sprints forward

Elmec Romania, sole representative of U.S. athletic footwear and apparel maker Nike, estimates turnover of 6.5 million euros for this year, up 45% since 2001. Elmec last year logged sales worth 4.5 million euros, twice 2001's levels, Norris Mageanu, the company's marketing manager told Ziarul Financiar. According to Mageanu, the ascending trend was triggered by the increasing number of customers and by the opening of new stores. Nike products are sold in 12 exclusive stores, but also in shops selling other sportswear brands, as well. ZF
