President-less RIB?

Ion Ghica (photo), president of the Romanian International Bank (RIB), and Nicolae Balan, one of the bank's vice-presidents, resigned early this week, sources on the banking market told Mediafax. According to the quoted sources, Ghica decided to retire because of health issues. However, RIB vice-president Valeriu Mosoeanu denies that Ion Ghica stepped down. "Ion Ghica had some health problems, was on a medical leave, but still holds the bank's presidency and did not resign," Mosoeanu claims. Nicolae Balan said he left RIB Board, as he and the bank's main shareholder had differences of opinion regarding banking operations in Romania. ZF
