A currently insolvent Rafo Onesti wants to merge with synthetic rubber maker Carom Onesti by absorption. The in principle approval of the merger has been included on the agenda of a General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled for mid this month. "The oil platform needs to be rebuilt as was initially planned. The two units were designed as an item," businessman Ovidiu Tender who controls Carom explained. Rafo is held by a company registered in the UK, Balkan Petroleum whose shareholders are not known. "I discussed this with Marian Iancu, Balkan Petroleum representative. I don't know who the shareholders are. Why should they be so important? Only here (Romania) shareholders are that important," Ovidiu Tender said. ZF< /P>
